New Political Reality - Minority determines the leadership of majority
Before
In recent years the National movement, Government party, has been winning the elections and has been leading in surveys conducted between the periods of elections. As a rule the secret of the success was defined by one variable, in other words one particular variable determined its leadership in the surveys. At first this magical variable was effectiveness and this parameter gained special weight on behalf of the recent years activities of Georgian Citizens’ union. “The effectiveness” proved to be rather vital to work for 5 years in such manner, that the ruling party didn’t face the problem of desired rating. Though, times are changing, and the parameter of effectiveness, which had been determining 60-70% of attitudes of Political voters during post-revolution period, gave positions up. Besides other factors, the military confrontations with Russia, as well as domestic and global economical crisis caused the rapid fall of the parameter weight. Everybody believed that the ratings decline of National Movement was inevitable, and the oppositional idea of “Human Rights” would become so important that it would bring the Opposition to the government.
