There is a novelty in supermarket business. From June 21 this issue is actively covered by
Georgian media. Carrefour will be opened in Vake and Vazisubani branches of Smart.
Smart will continue development in initial format. Namely, small format supermarkets will
develop. The majority of small format Smart shops will be located in filling stations and on
highways. All small markets opened by Smart in Georgia are profitable and advancement in this
format is a priority for Wissol Group. In the long run, strategic partnership between Carrefour
and Wissol implies additional investments, modern infrastructure that will be created via
contemporary centers and additional jobs, respectively. On May 25 Wissol launched the first
project with Carrefour in Gldani- president of Wissol Soss Pkhakadze noted.  
In 2017 the activities of 14 markets were covered by Georgian media.

Media activities of 5 out of 14 companies are covered in sentiment point of view. According to
the positive indicator Smart occupies the first position. It is the only supermarket among the top
5 ones that had no negative media coverage in 2017.

Fresco is a leader in terms of negative coverage. The major topic of negative coverage was a
letter spread by dismissed employees.
Furshet occupies the second position in terms of negative coverage. In this case the topic was
the suit filed at the court due to the 10 million worth arrears of Furshet.
