Georgia Has the Lowest Rate of Traveling Abroad in Region
 
Almost 70% of Georgian population doesn't go abroad
for either personal, official or tourist reasons.
Among those, who do travel abroad most visit Turkey.
 
The survey was conducted in the region and Russia and 1200 respondents took part in it in each country. The survey revealed which countries the respondents travelled to for personal, official or tourist reasons in the last 5 years.
 
Compared to the other surveyed countries, citizens of Georgia visited other countries the least. Large number of the respondents - 69% hasn't been abroad in the last 5 years for either personal, official or tourist purposes.
 
Most of Georgians who travelled abroad (13%) visited Turkey; while only 4% visited other European countries (see Chart #1).

According to the survey results in Armenia, 55% of the respondents haven't left the country in the last 5 years for either personal, official or tourist purposes, while those who did travel abroad, most visited Russia (32%) and Georgia (16%).
 
Results in Azerbaijan revealed many countries that Azerbaijani population visited for personal, official or tourist purposes, among them are Russia (16%), Turkey (15%), Georgia (12%), Arab-Islamic countries (8%) and Ukraine (4%). 56% of Azerbaijani people haven't left the country in the last 5 years for either personal, official or tourist purposes.
 
9% of Russian people visited Ukraine, 7% of them traveled to Turkey, while 6% visited Belarus. 57% of Russian respondents hasn't travelled to any countries.
 
Case of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian citizens' visits to Georgia is also interesting. As it turned out, in the last 5 years Armenians were the ones who visited Georgia the most for personal, official or tourist reasons (see Chart #2). VC2 eng
